Yes. The LD-1500 is rated IP68 for continuous submersion up to 3 meters. All external surfaces are 316L stainless steel, and the internal position sensor is sealed in a nitrogen-filled chamber. The EC-2000 and LD-1500 both support configurable fail-safe modes: hold last position, fully open, or fully closed. The fail-safe position is set via DIP switches or through Modbus register 0x0012. In the event of a bus timeout longer than 5 seconds, the actuator automatically transitions to the selected fail-safe state.
Yes. All three products use standard Modbus RTU over RS-485, which is natively supported by most SCADA platforms. We provide a sample register map and a generic GSD file for Siemens TIA Portal. For Rockwell ControlLogix, a simple MSG instruction reads the actuator position and status registers without additional hardware.

The actuator’s onboard microcontroller interprets position commands from a 4–20 mA or Modbus signal and adjusts the motor drive accordingly. It does not imply a general-purpose computer or user-programmable logic; the firmware is fixed and field-configurable only via the provided DIP switches and software tool.
All thrust ratings (e.g., 2000 N for the EC‑2000, 1500 N for the LD‑1500) are continuous ratings at rated voltage and ambient temperature. Peak overload capacity is 120 % for up to 5 seconds. Sustained operation above the continuous rating may trigger thermal shutdown.
Our devices implement Modbus RTU over RS‑485 with standard function codes (03, 06, 16). Interoperability depends on the host’s support for these codes and correct configuration of baud rate, parity, and node address. We provide register maps and sample configuration files for common platforms (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider).
Fail‑safe positioning means the actuator moves to a pre‑defined position (fully open, fully closed, or a user‑set intermediate point) upon loss of control power or communication signal. This is achieved via a spring‑return mechanism or capacitive energy storage, depending on the model. The fail‑safe position is configurable during commissioning.
No. The LD‑1500 and similar cylinders are designed for actuation of valves and gates in water treatment networks, but they are not certified for direct contact with potable water. All wetted materials in the valve assembly must be evaluated separately. The cylinder itself is external to the flow path.
Resolution is measured as the smallest detectable change in stroke length under static conditions at 25 °C. It is determined by the magnetostrictive sensor’s internal processing and is independent of the actuator’s mechanical backlash. Actual positioning repeatability in a valve assembly may be lower due to mechanical tolerances.
